St Michael’s Church

St Michael’s C of E Primary School is proud to have strong links with our local church.

Three times a year, the whole school walks through Winterbourne for a special Service at the church. The children lead harvest, Easter and the Leavers’ Services at the Church each year. Occasionally, the church ring their bells to welcome us which we love!

We have great relationship with Father Malcolm and his team and work together closely throughout the year. This year the church have put on some wonderful workshops for our junior children where they explored harvest and Easter in more detail.

Every Wednesday we welcome a member of St. Michael’s church to our school and they lead our worship. The St. Michael’s team are well known for the songs and hymns which they have taught the children – most have complicated actions!

The church also likes to use St. Michael’s school to host their own events. In autumn they use the school to host a Fun Day where both the school and church community come together. Each year the church holds a Sunday Service at the school. Children from the school participate in the service by leading prayers, performing short sketches and musical performances.

Our foundation governors are members of the congregation from St Michael’s, they also are regular visitors to school events. They often support the school by helping out on enrichment days, at Christmas & Summer Fayres and enjoy walking to church with us.

Finally our older Junior children are presented with a gift of a Bible from St Michael’s Church.
