In term 6 the whole school are learning through the Arts from the National Curriculum.
In Art and design, the focus is Craftmakers and we have a number of craftspeople organised to come in and share their craftmaking skills with the children.
The children will be involved in: block printing, pompom making, iris folding, sock bunny making, cross stitching, designing and making stage scenery, jewellery making, bottletop picture designing and creating.
In Music the focus is on composing and we have several musicians coming in to school to perform to inspire the children to develop a love of music.
We look forward to listening to popular music from Jodie Mellor (a former pupil), a classic pianist, a folk band, an opera company and listening to Greek music.
All week the children will be learning about different ways to stay safe. Each day will follow a different theme and we will be welcoming visitors in to speak with the children from different organisations.
Monday 12th June – Railway Safety – National Rail will give an assembly to the whole school followed by workshops in some classes.
Tuesday 13th June – Safety at the Beach – RNLI will give an assembly to the whole school followed by workshops in some classes.
Wednesday 14th June – Go Green – Speak out Stay Safe – NSPCC will give an assembly followed by workshops in some classes.
